F.A.Q.
(Frequently Asked Questions)
This page contains answers to common
questions handled by our event staff and presented here for your
reference.

As event registration opens for a given event, the events home
page, located at
http://www.stl3.com/events, will have the links updated to
contain the registration forms and information for whichever event
happens to be coming up. The registration form for a given
event should be downloaded to your PC and filled out, then mailed in
via regular mail to us at the address listed on the registration
form.
Make sure to check that you are willing to volunteer when you
fill out your registration forms. A limited number of
"scholarships" are available at our events to those willing to put
in enough work to help the event a success. A
scholarship is a way to attend the events affordably, but they are
given out on a true needs basis. Please know that ALL
volunteers are needed and none of the event staff are paid. We
all volunteer our time as part of the group that puts this on, and
we need everyone we can get for registration desk duty, dungeon
monitoring (please attend one of our classes for this too!), badge
check, auction, and more! In fact, were it not for the
wonderful volunteers we get from outside STL3 each year to help us,
we couldn't make these events the success that they are!
So, thanks in advance to each and every one of you!!
For reasons of both privacy, and security, we do not divulged the
location of any of our events except to those who actually register
for the events. We also remind you that when you
register, you are promising not to communicate this information to
anyone else either. Please remember that THIS IS FOR
YOUR PROTECTION AND PRIVACY TOO. Thank you for your
co-operation with this in advance too!!
The reasons here are twofold. The locations for hotels near
the events vary with the manner in which they offer deals and want
to handle registration and pricing packages, so this information is
included in the information you receive AFTER you register for the
event. The hotel information is given out only after
registration not only due to the registration process changing for a
given accommodation, but also again to protect your privacy and
security.
W.E.T. stand for "Workshops, Experience, and Technique".
These sessions provide you with a workshop environment that gives
you hands-on experience in a given area with the mentoring of those
experienced in the workshop topic leading you along.
These sessions vary in content from event to event, but have, in the
past, included everything from creative writing to craftwork and the
use of various techniques and equipment. They are a valuable
educational venue for both experienced and newcomer alike.
Nobody is expert at everything, and this is a chance to expand one's
horizons in a friendly environment with some of your fellows in the
lifestyle!
Event registration opens and closes in advance of the event with
varying lead times, but we try to keep registration open as long as
possible. We recommend staying up to date by visiting the
events website often, and keeping yourself registered with your
email address on our mailing list so you will know when things are
coming up. Event registration dates are published on this
website right on the home page as each event approaches.
